Spinal Decompression Takes Up to Eight Times Longer Than LSI’s 5-Day Process
Spinal decompression is successful in treating patients with a wide range of back problems, but it’s not always the right solution for every back pain sufferer. There are certain conditions that might be better treated with other procedures. Among the latest and most successful procedures is laser spine surgery, which comes with the added benefit of faster treatment. Spinal decompression requires 15 to 20 sessions that are generally administered over the course of five to eight weeks, and it’s highly recommended that the full course of treatments is completed even if a patient begins to feel relief early on. In contrast to spinal decompression, treatment at Laser Spine Institute is completed in a short five days. In addition, laser spine surgery normally requires minimal aftercare, so you can get on with your life without the repeated interruptions associated with spinal decompression treatments.
Here’s how our five-day process works:
- Day 1: New patients are evaluated at one of our facilities in Tampa, Scottsdale, or Philadelphia, and a complete medical history and physical are conducted. Lab work, an EKG, and an MRI or CT Scan are performed if needed.
- Day 2: A surgeon discusses MRI findings and their surgical solutions with the patient. Diagnostic injections are given if needed.
- Day 3: Anesthesia procedures are discussed with the patient, and the outpatient procedure is performed.
- Day 4: The patient is evaluated for physical therapy needs and that treatment is started.
- Day 5: The surgical incision is checked, and a post-operative evaluation is conducted. The patient’s last physical therapy session takes place and he or she is discharged.
Some of our patients experience relief before the operation is even over and more than 85% of our patients have reduced pain within three months. And unlike spinal decompression, which may be followed with adjustments indefinitely to maintain relief, laser spine surgery is a lasting solution for back pain.
If this sounds like an alternative to spinal decompression that you’d like to explore, contact LSI today. We’ll review your MRI or CT scan for free to determine whether you are a good candidate for our procedure.
